How patients consent to receive text messages from Dr. Refills, and how to opt out at any time.

How Patients Opt In

Patient visits drrefills.com and clicks "Get Started"

A consent screen appears before any intake begins. The patient must check the telehealth consent checkbox to proceed. SMS consent is optional.

Patient may optionally check the SMS consent checkbox

A dedicated SMS checkbox โ€” separate from the required telehealth consent โ€” is presented as optional. The patient can proceed without checking it. The exact consent language is shown below.

The "I agree" button activates after only the telehealth consent checkbox is checked. SMS consent is optional โ€” patients may use the service without opting in to SMS.

Confirmation SMS sent immediately on submission

Upon completing intake, the patient immediately receives an opt-in confirmation text.

Opt-in confirmation message:
Dr. Refills: You are now opted in to SMS updates. 1-3 msgs per refill request. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Patient can also opt in via keyword

Patients may text START to +1 (949) 591-8948 to opt in at any time.

Unable to Refill
Dr. Refills: Hi [First Name], we could not refill [Medication] at this time. No charge was made. Please follow up with your primary care physician. Reply STOP to opt out.
Physician Follow-Up
Dr. Refills: Hi [First Name], Dr. Nyotowidjojo has a follow-up question about your request. Please reply here or email hello@drrefills.com. Reply STOP to opt out.
